Responsible for direction and oversight of payer contracting and payer relations activities. Serves as primary liaison for clinical issues involving payers and/or professional revenue cycle leaders and billing companies to resolve payer-related issues. Implements, monitors, and evaluates MedStar Health's agreements for hospital and institutional services, professional services with managed care payers. and/or delegated credentialing with managed care payers. Directs and participates in negotiation of payer contracts, development of network and other procedure-specific carve-outs, and assessment and communication of managed care trends. Serves as project manager for various initiatives such as the development of managed care improvement plans and ongoing assessment of payer satisfaction. Manages relationships with payers and assists in the coordination of various managed care functions throughout MedStar Health. May oversee ongoing development and maintenance of managed care handbook and WHC PHO network functions including direct management of Managed Care Associate and Network Management Associate.
